We’ve had a couple of good months here at Film Divider, and things are still developing. Please do let us know what you think about the site so far.
As we move forward, our mission statement will remain the same. We will insist on maintaining a clear editorial viewpoint in even the smallest story. We don’t want to simply regurgitate other people’s material and steal a page view when we could have just shared a link to the source via Twitter.
We’re covering more breaking news now, some of which is sourced from elsewhere, but I hope you can see that we work hard to bring you extra info and an editorial point of view alongside the aggregated material. We’ve managed to deliver a few scoops, which took a lot of work and effort but was very gratifying and, I hope, offered value for the site’s visitors.
We do really need our readers’ support. You can help us build the readership that will keep Film Divider turning. You can do this by sharing links to our stories on Twitter or Facebook, by telling your friends about us, by engaging with us in our comments section and, above all else, by taking a look at the stories we publish here on the site.
At the moment, Film Divider is being funded out of our own pockets. All of the contributors are being paid for their work, and we want to be able to pay them fairly. We’re just now introducing a couple of ads on each page, hopefully nothing you’ll mind. Just ads hanging out in their designated places, there to pay the writers for their efforts.
Thank you for supporting Film Divider and helping us build a film site we can all be excited about. If you’re reading this, you’re one of the very, very early ones and we appreciate your interest especially.
If you wish to contact Managing Editor Craig Skinner or any of the contributors, you can reach us all via the Contact Us page. All feedback is very gratefully received.
